Job summary

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of building services projects in a multinational consultancy setting.

You will work closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality HVAC solutions, mentor junior staff, and ensure projects progress through all RIBA stages with compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience in a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Strong HVAC and building services design knowledge.
• Experience delivering projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail or mixed-use sectors.
• Proficiency in Revit and calculation software.
• Excellent client-facing communication.

Join a leading Building Services consultancy delivering some of the UK's most prestigious and technically challenging projects.

Our client is a well-established and highly respected Building Services Engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering innovative mechanical, electrical and public health design solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, retail and mixed-use developments.

Due to continued growth and an increasing project workload, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.

Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of building services projects across multiple sectors.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Manage projects through all RIBA stages.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations and industry best practice.
• Contribute to the development of sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design.
• Experience delivering projects within commercial, residential, hospitality, retail or mixed-use sectors.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Revit and industry-standard calculation packages.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership, would be advantageous.
