Job summary

ibse, a leading Building Services consultancy in the UK, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and delivery of mechanical building services across sectors. Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Significant experience in Building Services Consultancy
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design
• Experience delivering projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail or mixed-use sectors
• Proficient in Revit and industry-standard calculation packages
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartership (advantage)

Our client is a well-established and highly respected Building Services Engineering consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering innovative mechanical, electrical and public health design solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, retail and mixed-use developments.

Due to continued growth and an increasing project workload, they are now seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.

Role:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of building services projects across multiple sectors.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Manage projects through all RIBA stages.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements:

• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building services design.
• Experience delivering projects within commercial, residential, hospitality, retail or mixed-use sectors.
• Proficiency in relevant design software, including Revit and industry-standard calculation packages.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards Chartership, would be advantageous.
