Job summary

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) in Edinburgh to lead mechanical design across projects, developing HVAC and water systems from concept to construction.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will produce calculations, specs and drawings, coordinate with stakeholders and mentor junior engineers in a forward‑thinking, low‑carbon building services consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Good understanding of UK standards, regulations and industry guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical building services design across a range of projects.
• Develop HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic water systems.
• Take designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Produce and review calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Attend client and design team meetings and provide technical input.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.

The Role

• Lead mechanical building services design across a range of projects.
