Lusona Consultancy is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our Edinburgh office. You will lead mechanical design activities for high-profile building services projects, producing drawings and specs, and coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers, supporting project delivery from feasibility through handover, and contributing to sustainable technology initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience in building services.
• Experience in team/project leadership within a consultancy.

Responsabilités

• Produce drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a dynamic Building Services team. Your role will involve:

You will be responsible for:

• Leading the mechanical design for relevant building services systems as per project requirements.
• Producing drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Liaising with clients and multidisciplinary teams as required to meet project demands.
• Supporting project delivery from feasibility to handover, including conducting site inspections.
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the wider team development.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design within building services,
• Experience in team leadership/management and project leadership in a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency with industry standard software: AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IESVE, etc.
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE/BS standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Salary up to £55,000 per annum
