Lusona Consultancy (Group) Limited is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer in Edinburgh/Inverness area to lead mechanical design across building services projects. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage programmes, and ensure technical quality and profitability while maintaining strong client relationships throughout project lifecycles.

The role involves detailed calculations, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical design within building services.
• Chartered or close to achieving chartership through CIBSE or IMechE.
• Experience leading projects and client-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects from concept through to completion.

Role Overview

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• A degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in mechanical design within building services,

• Experience leading projects and client-facing teams.
• Proficiency with industry standard software: AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IESVE, etc.
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE/BS standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
