Job summary

CIBSE Journal seeks a Senior / Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for major UK Water and Wastewater schemes. Hybrid to local office (up to 4 days from home) across the UK. You will lead design delivery from feasibility to final design within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities include reviewing mechanical designs and specifications, taking technical ownership of smaller projects, and contributing to AMP-related design reviews for water authorities. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

Full design life cycle experience from feasibility to detailed design.
UK Water/Wastewater sector experience.
AMP project experience for UK Water Authority preferred.
Experience using 3D design tools and other engineering software.
Ability to take technical responsibility for smaller projects/work packages.

Responsibilities

Delivering feasibility, outline, detailed and final mechanical design work.
Reviewing mechanical designs, technical specifications, proposals and submissions.
Taking technical responsibility for smaller projects and work packages.
Supporting key design reviews for Water Authority AMP projects.
Working on Water treatment works, Wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs and associated water infrastructure.
Providing technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Supporting projects from concept through to detailed design and delivery.
