Job summary

Arcadis is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our MEICA Water team in the UK. You will lead and deliver mechanical design for water and wastewater projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners on AMP8 programmes.

You will steer digital design processes, ensure safety and quality, and develop innovative solutions aligned with client goals. This role offers a stable pipeline of work and opportunities to shape resilient water infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Self-start and work independently or in a team to produce, check, review or approve mechanical design deliverables.
• Lead or support design and advisory services for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.
• Ensure safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
• Deliver technically within a multi-disciplinary team using latest digital design processes.
• Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs.
• Coordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, electrical, ICA).
• Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters.
• Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards.
• Capture key project and technical knowledge including innovations.
• Promote MEICA team capability and achievements internally and externally.
