Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Senior EICA Design Engineer to join its MEICA team, delivering instrumentation, control, and automation designs for water and wastewater projects across the UK. You will lead design outputs, coordinate with multi-disciplinary groups, and ensure delivery aligns with budget, schedule, and quality expectations.

Reporting to the Principal Engineer or Associate Technical Director, you will interface with clients, contribute to business objectives, and advance MEICA capabilities

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution.
• Significant experience delivering process plant systems in water and wastewater projects.
• Experience with digital design on D&B projects.
• Technical leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with UK design standards and working practices.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity for industrial automation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICA design phases (concept to detail) for instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide design leadership for water and wastewater plants and pumping assets.
• Ensure safety and project delivery within budget, time, and quality targets.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, electrical, ICA).
• Establish and maintain client relationships and manage technical aspects of projects.
• Support factory acceptance tests and commissioning activities.
• Promote MEICA capabilities and innovations inside and outside the firm.
• Ensure designs comply with latest standards and regulatory requirements.
