Job summary

TXM Recruit is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop launch systems for fixed-wing UAVs in Herefordshire. The role focuses on turning complex requirements into practical mechanical solutions across concept development, detailed design and testing.

The successful candidate will have strong SolidWorks skills and a track record of delivering complete mechanical assemblies from concept through to manufacture and testing. This is a permanent, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Requires substantial mechanical design experience including complete assemblies.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and component integration.
• Experience translating requirements into practical mechanical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and detailed designs for UAV launch equipment.
• Translate requirements into workable mechanical solutions considering performance, manufacture, assembly and maintenance.
• Design complex assemblies using SolidWorks and produce manufacturing documentation.
• Evaluate pneumatic components and systems where required.
• Identify and resolve design and integration issues with practical solutions.
• Support prototype assembly and testing and refine designs.
