Job summary

UAV Systems Aerospace and Defence in Hereford is seeking an engineer to solve complex mechanical problems from first principles, taking ownership from concept to testing and production for UAV interceptor products.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, design components in SolidWorks, and support prototype development, testing and validation throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing complex mechanical systems in aerospace/defence.
• Strong first-principles problem solving using calculations and analysis.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical systems and assemblies for UAV interceptor products.
• Apply first-principles engineering to solve design challenges.
• Perform calculations, modelling and analysis to justify decisions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and multidisciplinary teams through the product lifecycle.
