Job summary

TXM Recruit is partnering with a specialist engineering company to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of launch systems for fixed-wing UAVs in Herefordshire. This hands-on design role uses SolidWorks to move concepts from 3D models to manufacture-ready parts, assemblies and test setups.

You will produce detailed drawings, BOMs and documentation, optimise designs for manufacture and assembly, and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure parts can be produced

Qualifications

• Experience producing 3D models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings.
• Understanding of design for manufacture and assembly.
• Ability to resolve design and build challenges.
• Ability to collaborate and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience with pneumatics is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, components, and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing information.
• Prepare bills of materials and supporting technical documentation.
• Incorporate pneumatic components into equipment designs where required.
• Work with manufacturing colleagues to ensure parts can be produced and assembled effectively.
• Support prototype builds, testing and practical design improvements.
• Update drawings and models in response to technical feedback and changing requirements.
