ibse is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Birmingham to lead building services projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to deliver sustainable, low-carbon solutions across a diverse portfolio.

The role offers hybrid working, a clear career path and exposure to high-profile projects within a leading independent building services consultancy.

Qualifications

• Degree (Mechanical or Building Services) or equivalent.
• 4+ years' experience in Building Services consultancy.
• Experience designing mechanical systems across multiple building sectors.
• Working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
• Proficiency with Revit and related mechanical design software.
• Understanding of sustainable building design and low-carbon solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Chartered Engineer status through CIBSE or IMechE desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead the mechanical design of building services projects.
• Manage project delivery from feasibility through construction.
• Act as Project Lead on selected commissions.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Attend design meetings and present directly to clients.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Develop long-term client relationships and generate repeat business.
• Deliver innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across projects.
