Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services design on a varied portfolio. You will drive projects from concept through delivery while mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities include designing HVAC, heating, ventilation, cooling and domestic water systems, coordinating with BIM and electrical teams, and contributing to sustainable low-carbon design strategies. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in mechanical building services engineering.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Experience taking projects from concept through detailed design and construction.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Revit experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of projects.
• Design HVAC, heating, ventilation, and domestic water systems.
• Produce and review design calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation.
• Take technical responsibility for mechanical engineering packages.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, BIM and sustainability teams.
• Attend and contribute to client and design team meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Support sustainable and low-carbon design strategies.
