Job summary

Calibre Search is partnering with an established engineering design consultancy in the North East to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer for their Newcastle or Stockton-on-Tees team.

You will deliver mechanical building services designs, mentor engineers, manage projects, and contribute to growth across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• At least five years' experience in a building services consultancy.
• Experience delivering projects from concept to completion.
• Ability to manage resources, programs and financial performance.
• Experience mentoring graduate or apprentice engineers.
• Proficiency with industry-standard calculation software and AutoCAD.
• Revit experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership (CIBSE membership preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical building services designs from concept to completion.
• Manage and coordinate projects across multiple sectors.
• Provide technical leadership and drive engineering innovation.
• Support project planning, resourcing, and financial performance.
• Mentor and line manage graduates and apprentices.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and internal teams.
• Contribute to development and performance of the project team.
• Work across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, retail, leisure, and historic buildings in public and private sectors.
