Job summary

Skilled Careers in Leeds is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its building services team, taking ownership of mechanical design on live projects and delivering high-quality solutions.

You'll collaborate with clients, architects and contractors, manage design stages from concept to construction, and develop your career within a supportive, technically strong environment with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 5+ years' relevant mechanical building services experience.
• Experience in an M&E consultancy or contractor environment.
• Good knowledge of HVAC, heating and cooling and other mechanical building services.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through to construction.
• Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant standards.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Experience using relevant design and calculation software.
• Ability to manage your own workload and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Chartered or working towards CE NG/CIBSE membership would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports.
• Develop designs from concept through to detailed design and construction.
• Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants.
• Attend design and project meetings and provide technical guidance.
• Support junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Ensure designs meet relevant UK regulations, standards and project requirements.
• Manage project deliverables, programmes and deadlines.
• Assist with technical reviews, quality assurance and project delivery.
