Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own the design of mechanical, composite and hydraulic systems from concept to testing and on-car implementation. You will generate 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings while collaborating with the structural and manufacturing teams to optimise performance and weight.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical/aeronautical engineering, Catia V5/3DX experience, FEA capability, and a track

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in mechanical/aero/automotive engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and first principles.
• Experience with Catia V5/3DX, FEA tools and reliability-focused design approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical, composite, and hydraulic systems for the car from concept through to testing and implementation.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings with manufacturing information.
• Collaborate with structural, manufacturing and other departments to optimise performance and mass.
• Support lab testing programs and ensure reliability across lifecycle.
• Deliver innovative designs that maximise performance and minimise weight.
