Job summary

The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within the Design Office in the UK. You will undertake projects from concept to testing and integration on the race car, applying creative and analytical approaches to support senior engineers and your own initiatives.

Supported by experienced engineers, you will translate theory into practice, develop skills, and contribute to a demanding, team-oriented environment with tight deadlines and strong manufacturing

Qualifications

• 2:1 degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport or related STEM field.
• Knowledge of CATIA V5/3DX is advantageous.
• Interest in mechanical and composite design, materials and manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support senior engineers on large mechanical/composite design projects.
• Assist with the design and development of innovative components using digital tools.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings with manufacturing info and test methods.
• Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing to ensure integrated designs.
• Own components from design through testing to on-car implementation.
