Job summary

Airbus Helicopters UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at the Oxford site to lead helicopter customisations from concept to manufacture. You will own technical quality, mentor a small team, and ensure designs meet customer, regulatory, and certification requirements.

You will integrate systems into Airbus Helicopters products and drive engineering work packages. You will oversee design checks (2D/3D/EBoMs), participate in Design Reviews, and manage cost/weight targets while

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in mechanical/ aerospace/ structural engineering or HNC/HND with extensive experience.
• Experience supervising a mechanical design team on complex systems.
• Proficient with CATIA V5, AutoCAD and PLM environments (Enovia SmarTeam, ARAS).

Responsibilities

• Lead design of modules and manage tasks for a team of design engineers.
• Ensure technical accuracy of 2D/3D models and EBoMs against standards.
• Coordinate design reviews and manage data transfers for product development.
• Develop and revise specifications; manage cost/weight targets.
• Mentor junior engineers and support recruitment when needed.
