Job summary

Airbus S.A.S. at Oxford Airport in the UK seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of helicopter customisations from concept to manufacture.

You will own design quality, mentor a small team, and ensure compliance with customer, regulatory and certification requirements. You will guide design reviews, manage module integration, and drive cost/weight targets while coordinating with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Aerospace/Structural Engineering or HNC/HND with extensive design experience.
• Experience supervising a team of mechanical design engineers.
• Proficient in CATIA V5 and PLM systems (Enovia SmarTeam, ARAS).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design effort for work packages or modules and manage the tasks and deliverables of a design team.
• Design check modules (2D, 3D, EBoMs) against internal standards and ensure technical accuracy prior to release.
• Design and detail model a variety of systems to meet customer, regulatory and OEM requirements.
• Monitor, manage and meet cost and weight targets.
• Organise and participate in Design Reviews throughout New Product Introduction.
