Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Leicester is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design delivery across a range of projects. You will produce and oversee calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports while ensuring design quality, programme and client expectations are met.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, guide junior engineers, engage with clients and contractors, and contribute to low‑carbon and renewable energy initiatives, standards

Qualifications

• A degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• Strong background in mechanical building services design at senior level.
• Proficiency in Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations and industry guidelines.
• Experience incorporating low-carbon, renewable and energy-efficient solutions.
• Awareness of BREEAM and sustainable design principles.
• Understanding of electrical interfaces to ensure coordinated design.
• Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IMechE) or active progression toward it.
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage clients, contractors and partners effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design delivery across projects and ensure quality and programme.
• Produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
• Guide junior engineers; represent the consultancy in meetings.
• Support integration of low-carbon technologies and site inspections.
• Contribute to project strategy and decision-making.
