Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Wolverhampton on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). The role focuses on designing mechanical components, creating 3D CAD models, and supporting product development across the lifecycle.

You will apply GD&T, perform tolerance analysis, and participate in DFMEA and design reviews. Candidates should have an HNC/HND, with proven experience in rotating equipment and aerospace exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND qualification.
• Strong experience designing rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
• Experience with 3D CAD Siemens NX Essential.
• Experience with PLM/PDM systems Teamcenter preferred.
• Aerospace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies.
• Create accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Support product development activities through full product lifecycle.
• Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysis.
• Participate in DFMEA and risk identification activities.
• Present design concepts, progress updates and design maturity at technical review gates.
• Support prototype build, testing and troubleshooting activities.
• Generate and maintain design documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement activities.
