Job summary

Omega Resource Group is recruiting a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for an aerospace client in Oxfordshire. The role focuses on delivering detailed mechanical designs, managing work packages, and ensuring regulatory and OEM compliance.

You will guide design teams, drive module integration, and maintain cost/weight targets in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have extensive CATIA V5 and PLM experience, and the position may require SC security clearance.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in mechanical, aerospace, or structural fields.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical system designs translating concepts into detailed designs.
• Lead design packages and manage a team of design engineers.
• Perform design checks (2D/3D/EBoMs) for standards and accuracy.
• Ensure integration of modules within the product and meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor cost and weight targets and select appropriate materials and processes.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and pursue design signatory status.
