Job summary

Elastic Ltd, a renewable energy consultancy, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of large-scale ground source heat pump projects. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with client-facing responsibilities and mentoring of a growing team.

Based in Birmingham with a hybrid work pattern (3 days in the office), you will own technical delivery from concept through to operation, influencing low-carbon infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in Mechanical or Building Services engineering.
• Strong HVAC and heat pump design experience in low-carbon heating.
• Proven client-facing and project leadership abilities.
• Experience mentoring engineers and developing teams.

I'm working exclusively with a specialist renewable energy consultancy that's experiencing significant growth and is looking to appoint a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of large-scale ground source heat pump and geothermal energy systems.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead the design and delivery of complex renewable heating projects
• Mentor and develop a talented team of engineers
• Work directly with clients and take ownership of technical delivery
• Influence major low-carbon infrastructure projects from concept through to operation

What we're looking for:

• 10+ years' experience in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• Strong HVAC / heat pump / low-carbon heating design experience
• Client-facing and project leadership skills
• Passion for engineering excellence and mentoring others
