Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join the Ancillary Works Team on the HPC project in the UK. You will oversee MEP designs from external consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with NNB requirements.

Role involves managing design development across multiple stages (RIBA 2 to 5), coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring QA and commissioning readiness. Experience in nuclear projects is valued and a proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experienced Mechanical Building Services engineer.
• Experience in building design and coordination.
• Knowledge of building design, construction and commissioning.
• Familiar with RIBA plan of work and CIBSE.
• Nuclear industry experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of technical specifications for consultants and contractors.
• Contribute to bidders’ technical assessment.
• Liaise with stakeholders involved in specification, procurement, design, construction, use, maintenance and decommissioning of the building services.
• Surveillance of subcontracted design activities with external consultants when required.
• Support design reviews as part of staged delivery.
• Analyse and resolve technical design issues presented by consultants and contractors; challenge their proposals.
• Support management of design changes and non-conformances during design.
• Engage with NNB Commissioning Teams and understand NNB requirements for suitable commissioning proposals.
• Apply QA processes, procedures and tools to manage design activities (NNB arrangements, interface specs with Responsible Designer).
