Senior Maternity Support Worker - Complex Care
Band 4
Job Overview

An exciting opportunity for a passionate and committed Band 4 Senior Maternity Support Worker (MSW) to join our maternity service and work alongside the newly developed complex care team. The team provides antenatal and postnatal continuity of care to women, including those under 16, seeking asylum, or with learning disabilities.

Level 4 MSWs utilize enhanced skills across maternity services, extending from Level 3 MSWs.

The role involves supporting the delivery of integrated maternity services during pregnancy, labour, and postnatal periods, liaising with community and hospital-based services to enhance care and support.

Applicants can qualify via an apprenticeship route, completion of Level 5 FDSci in Health and Social Care, or after completing years 1 and 2 of pre-registration midwifery programs. A full driving license and access to a car are essential.

Main Duties

Utilize enhanced skills to support multidisciplinary teams, including midwives, health visitors, safeguarding nurses, mental health professionals, GPs, and others, in providing comprehensive maternity care.
