Casual Personal Care Assistant Role in WS13

We are currently recruiting a Casual Female Care / Support Worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting a client in the Lichfield area. This varied role involves supporting our client with Autism to lead an independent lifestyle at home and in the community. The client enjoys animals, baking, and crafting, and the right candidate will share these interests and be comfortable caring for pets, including a kitten and guinea pig. Providing companionship and supporting the client at their pace and understanding when they need rest are key aspects of the role.

Hours and Requirements

This is a casual position providing ad hoc cover as needed. Candidates must be comfortable around animals and have autism and personal care experience, which are essential. Driving is preferred but not mandatory.

Training

All training is provided through e-learning, face-to-face sessions, practical and clinical training, tailored to meet the client's needs. Regular refresher courses are offered to keep skills current.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, well-organized, reliable, and excellent team players. They should be naturally caring and compassionate, with experience in:

  • Autism (essential)
  • Complex care, including stoma care (desirable)
  • Personal care support (essential)
  • Supporting hobbies and community outings (baking, animals, crafting)
  • Household tasks and medication support

Additional qualities include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to cover leave and sickness
