Job summary

Hunters 4 Staff is recruiting for an experienced Inventory Controller / Materials Planner to join a blue chip client in Uttoxeter. The role focuses on planning and expediting parts to meet market demand and maintaining supply across a complex chain.

You will analyse data, work across Purchasing, Production, Warehousing and Sales, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply and KPI performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Materials Planner or Inventory Controller.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Strong SAP experience.
• Excellent cross-department communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage material requirements planning to ensure continuous supply.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, balance availability with stock optimisation.
• Maintain planning parameters: lead times, safety stock, reorder points, MOQs.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Warehousing, and Sales to align stock with needs.
• Track supplier performance and expedite deliveries when needed.
• Maintain ERP data and report on inventory KPIs.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5:00pm | Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm

Key Responsibilities

• Manage material requirements planning to ensure a continuous supply of parts and materials.
• Monitor and control inventory levels, balancing availability with stock optimisation and waste reduction.
• Maintain and update planning parameters including lead times, safety stock levels, reorder points, and minimum order quantities.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Production, Warehousing, and Sales teams to align stock availability with business requirements.
• Track supplier performance, expedite deliveries where needed, and proactively resolve supply issues.
• Maintain accurate ERP system data and report on inventory and supply chain KPIs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Materials Planner, Inventory Controller, Supply Chain Planner, or similar role.
• Very strong Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
• Stong SAP experience
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Well organised, able to prioritise tasks, and comfortable working to deadlines.
