SF Partners are currently working on behalf of a well-established organisation in Nottingham who are looking to appoint a Material Planner to join their supply chain function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Planner or MRP professional to take ownership of material planning across multiple UK sites, working closely with demand, procurement, manufacturing, sales and finance teams to ensure the right materials and finished goods are available at the right time.

Qualifications

  • Experience in MRP/material planning in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong Excel and ERP/MRP system experience (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage MRP across multiple UK sites.
  • Balance supply and demand to meet customer and production needs.
  • Forecast demand for new products and promotions.
  • Maintain stock levels and replenish within budgets.
  • Identify and manage stock shortages with internal teams.
  • Maintain MRP processes, controls and parameters.
  • Use SAP MRP to manage planning data.
  • Provide supply insights into the S&OP process with commercial teams.
  • Monitor KPIs including OTIF, stock availability and lead times.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Finance to resolve planning challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and data-driven improvements.

Material Planner

Location: Nottingham

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £37,000

SF Partners are currently working on behalf of a well-established organisation in Nottingham who are looking to appoint a Material Planner to join their supply chain function.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Supply Planner or MRP professional to take ownership of material planning across multiple UK sites, working closely with demand, procurement, manufacturing, sales and finance teams to ensure the right materials and finished goods are available at the right time.

The Role

As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for managing supply in line with demand, ensuring strong customer service levels while maintaining appropriate stock levels and supporting efficient production.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • -Managing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) across multiple UK sites.
  • -Balancing supply and demand to ensure finished goods and raw materials are available to meet customer and production requirements.
  • -Forecasting future demand, including supporting new product ranges and promotional activity.
  • -Managing replenishment and stock levels within agreed budgets.
  • -Identifying, communicating and managing stock shortages with relevant internal teams.
  • -Implementing and maintaining effective MRP processes, routines, controls and planning parameters.
  • -Using SAP MRP to maintain accurate planning parameters and master data.
  • -Ensuring system data accurately reflects stock positions, stock in transit, open purchase orders and sales orders.
  • -Providing supply and planning insights into the S&OP process, working closely with commercial teams.
  • -Monitoring key supply chain KPIs including OTIF, stock availability and lead-time adherence.
  • -Working collaboratively with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing and Finance to resolve planning and supply challenges.
  • -Identifying opportunities to improve processes through automation, digitalisation and data-driven decision making.
About You
  • -We are looking for someone with a strong background in MRP, material planning or supply planning, ideally gained within a UK manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • -2-3 years' experience in MRP, material planning, supply planning or a similar role.
  • -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • -Experience working with ERP/MRP systems; SAP MRP experience would be advantageous.
  • -Advanced Microsoft Office/Excel skills.
