Job summary

AECOM’s Ports and Maritime team is seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer with civil/structural background to lead technical work across UK and international projects. The role supports mentoring staff and delivering complex maritime infrastructure in a global environment.

The position can be based anywhere in the UK, offering hybrid work and opportunities for professional development through AECOM University while contributing to resilient coastal and port projects.

Qualifications

• MEng or BEng in civil or structural engineering.
• Be able to obtain SC security clearance.
• Experience designing marine structures and knowledge of BS/Eurocodes.

Responsibilities

• Design structures in the Marine Environment (quay walls, piers, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, fendering, scour protection, linkspan supports, dolphins).
• Plan, prepare and ensure successful completion of deliverables.
• Present calculations to high quality standards using software (ROBOT, GRLWEAP, WALLAP, TEDDS, PLAXIS 3D).
• Check and review technical specifications, reports and notes to high standards.
• Review drawings and specs for timely, accurate results.
• Mentor staff to achieve technical solutions and knowledge growth.
• Assist in tender preparation (programme, cost estimates, resourcing, input).
• Experience in construction supervision of maritime structures.
• Understand BS, Eurocodes and best practice in maritime env.
