Job summary

AECOM’s Ports and Maritime team is seeking a Senior Maritime Engineer with a civil and structural background to play a key technical role across multiple UK and international projects.

You’ll join an established team with over 100 years of combined experience, delivering world‑class maritime and coastal infrastructure for local authorities, private developers, defence clients and internal AECOM teams in the UK and overseas. The role can be based anywhere in the UK.

Qualifications

• MEng or BEng qualified in civil or structural engineering.
• Be able to obtain SC security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design marine structures (quay walls, piers, jetties, revetments, breakwaters, fendering).
• Plan, prepare, and deliver project deliverables.
• Present calculations using ROBOT, GRLWEAP, WALLAP, TEDDS, PLAXIS 3D.
• Review technical specifications, reports and drawings to a high standard.
• Review design drawings and specifications for timely, accurate results.
• Mentor staff to develop technical solutions.
• Assist in tender preparation (programme, cost, resourcing, quality input).
• Experience in construction supervision of maritime structures.
• Understand BS, Eurocodes and best practice in maritime environments.
• Deliver projects across varied cost and complexity.
