Job summary

AECOM’s Ports and Maritime team is seeking a Maritime Engineer with civil and structural expertise to lead or support design across UK and international projects. You will work on quay walls, jetties, breakwaters and related works, contributing through all lifecycle stages from concept to construction.

The role offers flexible on-location arrangements across the UK with exposure to multidisciplinary teams and opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Strong civil/structural design background, ideally with marine or coastal infrastructure experience.
  • Familiarity with relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and maritime guidance documents.
  • Eligible and able to obtain Security Clearance (SC level).

Responsibilities

  • Undertake structural design and analysis of maritime and coastal structures using BS, Eurocodes and PIANC guidance.
  • Develop concept, preliminary, and detailed designs for quay walls, jetties, revetments and breakwaters.
  • Carry out stability, bearing capacity and durability assessments of marine structures under waves and currents.
  • Design and specify fendering, mooring arrangements and scour protection measures.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications and tender documents.
  • Conduct site inspections and structural condition surveys; liaise with clients and regulatory bodies.
