Job summary

AECOM’s Ports and Maritime team is seeking a Maritime Engineer with a civil and structural background to play a key technical role across UK and international projects. You’ll contribute to the design and analysis of marine structures, support project lifecycles from concept to construction, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver safe, sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong civil/structural design background, marine/coastal preferred.
• Solid understanding of structural behaviour and materials.
• Familiarity with British Standards and Eurocodes; maritime guidance.
• Eligible to obtain Security Clearance (SC level).

Responsibilities

• Undertake design and analysis of maritime structures to BS/Eurocodes/PIANC guidance.
• Develop quay walls, jetties, revetments, breakwaters and related works.
• Assess stability, bearing capacity and durability under marine loads.
• Design and specify fendering, mooring and scour protection.
• Prepare reports, drawings, specs and tender documents.
• Conduct site inspections and review contractor submissions.
