Job summary

IQA Elecnor Group is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial performance on high-value MV/HV, BESS and substation projects across the UK. You will work with the UK & Ireland division, clients and subcontractors to protect profitability and manage NEC3/NEC4 contractual obligations.

The role includes mentoring junior surveyors, developing robust commercial processes, and driving safety, quality and operational excellence across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Strong NEC3/NEC4 contract experience.
• Background in infrastructure, utilities, energy, power, construction or engineering projects.
• Excellent commercial, contractual and financial management skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain relationships.
• Strong reporting, forecasting and CVR experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of MV/HV, Substation and BESS projects, ensuring profitability, commercial performance and contractual compliance.
• Manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including Compensation Events, variations, Early Warnings and change control.
• Oversee CVRs, forecasting, project budgets, cash flow and commercial reporting.
• Develop procurement and subcontract strategies, including negotiations, valuations, payments and performance management.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, supporting claims management and dispute avoidance.
• Provide commercial input into tenders, contract reviews, pricing strategies and risk assessments.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key project stakeholders.
• Mentor and support the development of Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
• Drive continuous improvement across commercial processes, systems and reporting.
• Promote high standards of safety, quality and operational excellence across all projects.
