Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to work with the Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. You will lead commercial aspects, liaise with stakeholders and drive value for the project.

The role requires MRICS or equivalent, RICS/ICES registration, strong NEC and measurement knowledge, and ability to report to senior management. You will develop cost plans, monitor cash flow and contribute to APC mentoring.

Qualifications

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent preferred.
• Registered with RICS or ICES.
• Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and Standard Methods of Measurement.
• Ability to communicate with senior management and stakeholders.
• Strong cost control and forecasting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage all commercial aspects of the project and liaise with stakeholders.
• Assist in building and guiding the commercial team and APC mentoring.
• Collate and challenge Cost/Value Reports and forecasts; implement actions.
• Negotiate terms with subcontractors to maximise value and manage risk.
• Design and implement a commercial strategy for portfolio and tenders.
• Ensure monthly outturn costs are monitored with bottom-up forecasts.
