Job summary

Kier Group in the North West of England is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee the United Utilities Framework. Based in the North West, the role demands strong cost control, contract compliance and leadership of a surveyor team across multiple projects.

45 hours per week with some flexibility; permanent, full-time. You will manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, interim payments and final accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to Kier's high commercial

Qualifications

• Experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor in related industry.
• Professional qualification (e.g. RICS or degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management).
• Strong understanding of NEC, JCT or similar standard forms of contract.
• Experience managing project finances throughout full lifecycle.
• Full driving licence and ability to attend project sites.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing commercial delivery across multiple projects or workstreams.
• Supporting and guiding quantity surveyors in cost forecasting, valuations, reporting, and commercial administration.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering, contract negotiations, and payments to ensure value for money.
• Overseeing interim applications, final accounts, variations, and claims with clients and supply chain.
• Monitoring and controlling project budgets and commercial risks, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
