Job summary

Rolls-Royce SMR is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the specification, design, integration and delivery of plant-wide process control, instrumentation, supervisory control, operational information and data processing systems.

You will report to the Head of C&I Systems Design & Integration, building a high‑performing engineering organisation across Derby, Manchester or Warrington, and driving strategic supplier relationships in a nuclear environment while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree and chartered status with substantial experience in process control environments.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in regulated industries.
• Experience delivering plant-wide control and instrumentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant-wide process control and instrumentation architectures.
• Define control philosophies and operational requirements.
• Establish requirements for process monitoring, automation and control systems.
• Ensure alignment between plant operation objectives and control system functionality.
• Provide technical leadership across the engineering lifecycle.
• Lead supplier evaluations and contract management for instrumentation and automation.
• Ensure safety, cybersecurity and regulatory compliance for systems.
