Job description

Job Title: Senior Manager - Legal Operations & Transformation Services

The role is for a senior manager supporting client delivery and the development of our Legal Operations and Transformation Services (LOTS) practice.

Description of the role:

  1. Highly experienced consultant with knowledge of legal operating models.
  2. Experience working with legal technology vendors.
  3. Ability to lead large-scale, complex global transformations.
  4. Lead proposal responses from RFIs and RFPs to final presentations.
  5. Support strategic direction of the LOTS practice.
  6. Provide expertise and insights to clients undergoing legal transformation.
  7. Identify client needs and propose solutions.
  8. Maintain a high market profile and support development of go-to-market strategies.

The role reports to the head of Legal Operations and Transformation Services, focusing on delivering complex projects and supporting sales.

As the team grows, leadership responsibilities include developing team members and fostering a positive culture. The candidate will also handle business development, marketing, resource planning, and forecasting.

Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:

The candidate must engage effectively with stakeholders across seniorities and sectors, including persuading C-suite clients. Managing internal and external stakeholders independently is essential.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

The candidate will help grow the LOTS practice and ensure quality and risk governance of work performed by their team.

The Person

Essential

  • Significant operational change experience.
  • Expertise in legal target operating models, RACIs, sourcing strategies, service catalogs, and technology options.
  • Understanding of challenges in legal functions like spend management, matter lifecycle, cost reduction, and workforce agility.
  • In-house legal experience preferred but not necessary to be legally qualified.

Desirable

  • Experience with support functions like HR, Finance, procurement.
  • Experience with technology solutions and digitization.
  • Cross-sector experience.
  • Project management qualification (desirable).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (desirable).
