The Senior Manager, Human Resources will have primary responsibility for managing and supporting a wide range of Human Resources services and programs to include recruiting, onboarding, senior management guidance and support on HR practices and policies, employee relations, performance management, and employee departures in London and Brussels. They will ensure that the Firm is compliant with all business, benefits, and employment law considerations. This will include responsibility for onboarding new employees and transfers to the Brussels and London offices, facilitating all employer obligations, keeping up to date with Belgium and UK employment practices, coaching managers, training employees, managing HR related projects and programs, and working with the recruiting team to hire the best talent. They will also work closely with senior leaders and managers on employee relations with legal considerations and in accordance with Firm policy.

How You’ll Help Our Team Succeed

  • Act as the day-to-day HR business partner to our London and Brussels offices and work closely with the broader Human Resources team.
  • Partner with HR team to oversee the ongoing development of standardized internal HR processes and procedures for an international firm.
  • With Senior HR Leadership, develop and implement HR Programs and policies to support the Firm’s vision and values emphasizing continuous improvement, teamwork, and quality.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, HR to support the performance evaluation process for corporate and administrative staff.
  • Work closely with US Managers, HR to support the firmwide full cycle recruiting process for corporate and administrative staff in Brussels and London.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and managers to identify, evaluate, and address employee relations, morale, and work performance concerns.
  • Prepare employment and termination agreements.
  • Maintain compliance with country, city, and local employment laws, regulations, Firm policies and procedures and recommended best practices.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience; global professional services or legal firm environment experience preferred.
  • The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm’s financial and operational functions.
  • The mindset to provide superior service.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks with ease, strategically prioritize and analyze opportunities to make recommendations on new approaches.
  • Demonstrated self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and trying new methods and a quick learner.
  • Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal). Exceptional relationship management ability and highly collaborative.
  • Experience in implementing performance management processes.
  • Well versed in UK and Belgian employment law and compliance and experience in recruitment in these markets.
  • Speak and write English and French fluently.
  • University degree in a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CIPD certified (minimum Level 3), PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent.
