Job summary

National Grid plc is seeking a Senior Manager for Group Enterprise Performance Management in London. You will lead the Group FP&A performance framework, benchmark across peers, and drive AI-enabled improvements in reporting and governance.

You will shape strategic performance contracts, Run Scorecards and Change Scorecards, while partnering with business units to ensure timely, accurate insights for executive decision-making.

Qualifications

• Degree educated; accounting, economics, engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Professional qualification (e.g. accounting, CFA) advantageous but not essential.
• Strong experience of enterprise performance management, including target setting, scorecards/dashboard KPI reporting, management reporting and executive performance reviews.
• Experience in performance benchmarking, KPI analysis and peer comparison across operational, financial, delivery and efficiency measures.
• Ability to design coherent performance frameworks that connect strategic priorities, enterprise-wide outcomes, and management action.
• Experience improving and digitalising reporting processes, data models and management information, with an understanding of AI and automation can improve scale, quality and insight.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to challenge constructively and build alignment across business units.

Responsibilities

• Help lead the Group performance management and reporting framework to provide line-of-sight from strategy to delivery.
• Oversee the annual performance contract process with development, challenge, calibration and approval of performance commitments.
• Lead the Tier 1 Run Scorecard process, maintaining an enterprise view of performance and driving ownership when improvements are needed.
• Assist in establishing the enterprise-wide Change Scorecard, monitoring delivery against strategic changes, milestones and risks.
• Produce high-quality, decision-focused performance reporting for the Group Executive and Board.
• Work with units to improve data quality, definitions, commentary and governance of performance data.
• Oversee benchmarking against peers and best-in-class standards across key metrics.
• Scale benchmarking using AI, automation and analytical tools for broader insight access.
• Translate benchmarking into gaps, opportunities and priorities to support target setting and challenge.
• Support digitalisation of corporate reporting, defining requirements and processes.
