Job summary

National Grid is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join the Group FP&A team in a role based at our Strand office. You will lead enterprise performance management, reporting, benchmarking and a new Change Scorecard, driving clear insights for strategic decisions and actions across the group.

You will influence across business units, improve data quality and governance, and advance digitalisation of performance reporting with AI and automation.

Qualifications

• Degree educated; accounting, economics, engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Professional qualification (e.g. accounting, CFA) advantageous but not essential.
• Strong experience of enterprise performance management, including target setting, scorecards/dashboard KPI reporting, management reporting and executive performance reviews.
• Experience in performance benchmarking, KPI analysis and peer comparison across operational, financial, delivery and efficiency measures.
• Ability to design coherent performance frameworks that connect strategic priorities, enterprise-wide domain outcomes, business-unit performance and management action.
• Experience improving and digitalising reporting processes, data models and management information, with an understanding of how AI and automation can improve scale, quality and insight.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to challenge constructively and build alignment across business units, functions and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Group performance management and reporting framework to link strategy to delivery and actions.
• Coordinate annual performance contract process with stretching, measurable commitments across the Group.
• Head Tier 1 Run Scorecard focusing on enterprise view of performance and driving accountability.
• Oversee the Change Scorecard delivery, monitoring milestones, dependencies and risks.
• Produce high-quality, decision-focused performance reporting for the Group Executive, Board and senior leadership.
• Improve data quality, consistency and timeliness of performance data, definitions and governance.
• Oversee annual Group-wide benchmarking for performance against peers and best-in-class standards.
• Scale benchmarking using AI, automation and analytics to improve coverage and speed.
• Translate benchmarking into gaps and improvement priorities and support target setting.
• Assist corporate reporting to digitalise performance management and governance processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across the performance cycle and foster a transparent culture.
