Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a experienced Management Accountant to join the Finance Team at Commonwealth House in Glasgow. You will provide expert financial advice, drive planning, reporting and performance across service areas, and support senior managers and clinical services to optimise resources for patient care.

The role requires CCAB qualification, senior management accounting experience, strong financial insight and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Professional accountancy qualification with CCAB body or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in a large, complex organisation, including senior management accounting.
• Deep knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
• Excellent analytical and numerical abilities with ability to translate data into insights.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across finance and non-finance audiences.
• Advanced IT skills, including Excel and financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert financial management advice to budget holders and senior stakeholders.
• Lead on financial planning, budgeting, monitoring and forecasting across service areas.
• Produce timely financial reports with variance analysis and performance information.
• Analyse complex data and recommend actions for strategic decisions.
• Support development and evaluation of business cases and investments.
• Build relationships with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues.
• Contribute to governance and process improvements in financial systems.
