Job summary
Placr Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. You will diagnose complex breakdowns, carry out planned and preventative maintenance and perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding across CNC machinery, mills and other production equipment.
You will also work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, drive automation and robotics projects, and mentor junior engineers while providing technical leadership as required.
Qualifications
- Significant manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Hands-on CNC machinery maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex machinery breakdowns.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.
- Strong health & safety awareness.
- Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship desirable.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs, Fanuc/Staubli robotics, Haas machinery or automation projects would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve a broad range of manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose complex breakdowns and carry out planned and preventive maintenance on CNC machinery, mills and lathes.
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding across production equipment.
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Support automation and robotics investments, including modifying machinery and commissioning projects.
- Mentor other Maintenance Engineers and provide technical leadership when required.

This is a senior, hands-on position responsible for maintaining and improving a broad range of manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose complex breakdowns, carry out planned and preventative maintenance and perform electrical and mechanical fault-finding across CNC machinery, mills, lathes and other production equipment.
You will also work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, carry out root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
A key part of the role will be supporting the company's investment in automation and robotics, including modifying existing machinery, integrating automated systems and contributing to commissioning and capital improvement projects.
As a senior member of the team, you will mentor other Maintenance Engineers and provide technical leadership when required.
