Job summary

Placr Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business. This senior, hands-on role covers maintenance and improvement of CNC machinery, mills, lathes and production equipment, with focus on diagnosing complex breakdowns and executing planned and preventative maintenance.

You will work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, support automation and robotics projects, contribute to commissioning and capital improvements, and mentor junior

Qualifications

• Significant manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Hands-on CNC machinery maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex machinery breakdowns.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers.
• Strong health & safety awareness.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of maintenance issues.
• Engineering qualification such as HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship desirable.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs, Fanuc/Staubli robotics, Haas machinery or automation projects would be advantageous.

Senior Maintenance Engineer

Placr Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing business.

This is a senior, hands‑on position responsible for maintaining and improving a broad range of manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose complex breakdowns, carry out planned and preventative maintenance and perform electrical and mechanical fault‑finding across CNC machinery, mills, lathes and other production equipment.

You will also work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, carry out root cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

A key part of the role will be supporting the company's investment in automation and robotics, including modifying existing machinery, integrating automated systems and contributing to commissioning and capital improvement projects.

As a senior member of the team, you will mentor other Maintenance Engineers and provide technical leadership when required.
