Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a large-scale manufacturing facility in North Wales. You will provide reactive and planned maintenance on precision machine tools and production equipment, fault-find electrical and mechanical issues, and support equipment commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Time-served engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience maintaining machine tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience using CNC controls as part of fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line maintenance for machine and equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
  • Interrogate machine control systems using engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Install and maintain three-phase power supplies and support new equipment commissioning.
  • Carry out spindle, drive and auxiliary equipment replacement and repair activities.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Perform machine alignment, repair and optimisation activities.
  • Support spare parts management and maintenance inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
  • Support and mentor less experienced team members where required.

Do you hold a time-served engineering qualification and have hands-on experience maintaining CNC machine tools within a manufacturing environment?
Can you confidently fault-find and repair electrical and mechanical issues on complex machinery, including working with Siemens CNC control systems?

The Opportunity

Due to ongoing investment and continued growth, a leading advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team. Working on a permanent full-time basis, you will provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of sophisticated machine tools and production equipment. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
  • Provide first-line maintenance support for machine and equipment breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:
  • Time-served engineering qualification or recognised equivalent.
  • Proven experience within machine tool maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Experience using CNC machine controls as part of the fault diagnosis process.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift pattern.
It’s great if you also have the following
  • Experience working with Siemens 840D control systems.
  • Knowledge of large CNC machining centres and 5-axis milling machines.
  • Understanding of fabrication, machining and metal treatment processes.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.Previous mentoring or coaching experience.
  • Experience within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
