Job summary

SP Energy Networks, part of the Iberdrola Group, invites applications for a Senior Design Engineer (Main Plant) in Cambuslang. The role focuses on delivering Main Plant engineering solutions for transmission networks (132kV+), with a hybrid working pattern and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree or HND with relevant experience.
• Experience in electrical substation design for infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of transmission and/or distribution network plant and equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Main Plant engineering solutions for transmission networks (132kV+), producing specifications and technical support.
• Produce designs and specifications for switchgear, transformers and primary plant equipment.
• Review tender submissions for technical compliance and approve drawings.
• Ensure designs meet legislation, requirements and standards.
• Provide technical guidance during design, construction and commissioning.
• Prepare engineering documentation in line with quality requirements.
• Champion health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Support knowledge sharing for new technologies and equipment.
