Job summary

SP Energy Networks' MANWEB business is recruiting a Senior Main Plant Design Engineer to deliver safe, compliant, cost-effective main plant designs for 132kV and 33kV networks across the North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire regions. The role combines office-based design work with site and stakeholder collaboration.

You will drive technically robust solutions, mentor engineers, and ensure safety by design across the asset lifecycle, with regular travel and a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified electrical engineer with relevant HV experience.
• Experience delivering 132kV/33kV substation main plant designs.
• Ability to assess contractor designs and identify technical risks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 132kV/33kV substation main plant designs from feasibility to commissioning.
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM and SP Energy Networks standards.
• Provide technical guidance and review contractor designs for quality and compliance.
• Mentor and support developing engineers within the team.
