Job summary

Mech Electrics Limited is seeking a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their Leeds/Sheffield based team on new-build commercial projects. You will take responsibility for the commercial management of M&E packages, from procurement and cost control through to final accounts.

The role requires a commercially astute QS with a strong mechanical and electrical background, capable of managing budgets, subcontractor valuations and payments while working closely with project managers, clients

Qualifications

• Manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages on new-build projects.
• Prepare budgets, cost reports and forecasts.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments.
• Manage variations and contract notices.
• Monitor costs and maximise profitability.
• Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects.
• Proven experience in M&E/surveying within building services.
• Experience on new-build commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical packages.
• Excellent commercial, contractual, negotiation and cost management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of M&E packages on new-build commercial projects.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost reports and forecasts.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, valuations and payments.
• Manage variations, change control and contractual notices.
• Monitor project costs, identify commercial risks and maximise profitability.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
