Senior M&E Construction Lead – HV Substations & BESS

Job summary

OCU Group is seeking an experienced M&E Construction Manager to lead major energy infrastructure delivery across Scotland, including substations up to 400kV and BESS projects. You will oversee installation through energisation, coordinating with project managers, designers, DNOs, OEMs, and specialist contractors.

The role demands strong leadership, safety focus, and delivery of technically challenging projects to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Mechanical & Electrical construction on high-voltage infrastructure or utilities projects.
• Experience delivering substations, BESS, electrical infrastructure or major energy schemes.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or similar health & safety qualification recommended.
• Strong CDM 2015 knowledge and principal contractor responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead all Mechanical & Electrical construction activities across substations, BESS, and related energy infrastructure.
• Manage site teams, subcontractors, and key project interfaces for safe, on-time delivery.
• Coordinate HV/LV installations: transformers, switchgear, protection, control, SCADA, cabling, earthing.
