Job summary

Crystal Care is seeking an Activities Manager to create meaningful experiences for residents by planning diverse programs tailored to individual interests and abilities. • Creative, enthusiastic and passionate about improving quality of life for older people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enjoys building relationships with residents, families and the wider community.
• Organised and confident planning engaging activities and events.
• Good IT skills and comfortable recording information electronically.
• Motivates others and promotes a whole-home approach to resident engagement.
• Flexible, proactive and able to adapt activities to changing needs and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and lead a varied programme of activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities.
• Build strong relationships with residents by exploring life histories, hobbies and preferences.
• Develop partnerships with local schools, charities, churches and community groups to enhance activities.
• Arrange visits from entertainers and external organisations to bring new experiences to the home.
• Encourage colleagues to deliver activities and continue programmes in the manager's absence.
• Record and evaluate activities using PCS, updating care plans and activity records accordingly.
• Champion life story and Resident of the Day initiatives with up-to-date information.
• Promote a resident-led culture by educating colleagues about individual backgrounds and life experiences.
• Share photographs and stories from activities for newsletters and social media with consent.
• Contribute ideas and best practices through monthly social committee meetings.
• Be flexible to support occasional evening or special events.
