Job summary

Crystal Care Collection in United Kingdom is seeking an Activities Assistant to design and deliver engaging activities that enrich residents’ daily lives. You’ll learn residents’ life stories and tailor personalised activities to promote wellbeing and social connection.

Working with the Lifestyle Manager, you’ll help create a vibrant programme reflecting residents’ preferences, with opportunities for evenings and events as needed. A caring, proactive approach and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Positive, creative and enthusiastic personality.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Compassionate, patient and genuinely interested in improving the lives of older people.
• Previous experience in activities, care or customer-facing roles is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of meaningful group and one-to-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities and life experiences.
• Build relationships with residents by learning about their hobbies, preferences and personal histories.
• Develop and maintain links with local schools, charities, churches and community organisations to enhance the activity programme.
• Help organise visits from entertainers, performers and external providers.
• Support larger events and resource-intensive activities to ensure residents can participate safely and enjoyably.
• Encourage colleagues to engage residents in meaningful interactions throughout the day and promote a whole-home approach to activities.
• Record activities and outcomes accurately on PCS, ensuring care plans and activity programmes remain up to date.
• Champion the My Life Story and Resident of the Day initiatives by maintaining accurate social information and encouraging personalised care.
• Gather photographs and stories for newsletters, noticeboards and social media, ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained.
• Promote a resident-led culture by sharing residents' preferences and life experiences with the wider team.
• Be flexible to support occasional evening activities and special events when required.
